Mary Edly-Allen co-sponsored a bill that passed in the Illinois House of Representatives to limit dangerous emissions of ethylene oxide in Lake County. Unfortunately, the bill failed in the Illinois Senate.
The fight is not over, however. Mary has vowed to continue pressuring the Senate to do the right thing.
The bill would have phased out the use of ethylene oxide in sterilization facilities within 5 miles of schools and densely populated communities like those in Lake County.
